Home Alone

I have been running the Inn & RV Park without Mikey since last Thursday. The first three nights were quite busy, but the last two have been dead. I think I prefer the busy. I got a little bored yesterday. I ended up making a huge batch of salsa with all the donations from our friends and neighbors gardens. That sure is a long and messy process. But, it did keep my hands busy all afternoon.

Mike is in Salem playing in his first Senior Amatuer golf tournament. He went early so he could play a couple practice rounds. However, once he got there he came down with a really bad cold :( He only played one practice round and pretty much held up in motels trying to get better by Monday~ the first round. He shot a 79 and ended up in the middle of the pack. Not good enough to make the top 30, the Champions bracket of match play today. However, he does still continue to play match play but in the 2nd bracket. I am sure it will prove to be a good experience and he will know what to expect and how to prepare if he decides to play again next year.

Sharing a Dream-Idea

This building is about 12 miles East of Dayville. It may have been an old church or school. I really do not know but have always had a fantasy of moving it onto our property and restoring it. I recently saw a "For Sale" sign near it and I am wondering if the property is for sale. So, today I took photos and actually got out of my car and walked around it and took photos through some of the broken out windows.
I would love to move it and learn it's history and give it a new life as the "Inn-keepers Cottage" ! I have a spot for it and a plan... maybe....

First Day of Fall

It feels like Fall... The air is cool, it's breezy, and a it has rained on and off (between wonderful bouts of sunshine). Lyndee is sanding and painting all 8 of the RV Park picnic tables. The tables are going to look so nice. She hopes to get 4 done today.
Zander and Zink are buddies. They got to swim at the flumes this morning.

This is the best the rose garden has looked all summer... the white flower is a type of milk weed called "Summer Ice". Guests are constantly inquiring about it.
An empty RV Park, leaves are starting to turn.

A snapshot down Main Street.

A Quick Trip to Bend and A Great Time with My Kids!

I spent a little more than 24 hours on a trip over the mountain to see both Dane and Lyndee! Lyndee and I ate at the new place she works (Jackson's Corner). We also went to a couple thrift stores... All of us, including Charly, had Chinese food delivered to Dane's house. I stayed the night in their peaceful guest room :)

Today, we took all three dogs "Zink, Butters and Reisen" to the river. Dane has been layed up with his back and his dogs have been house-bound, too.. so this was good for us all! I got my hair trimmed, and found lots of good sheets for the Inn (and a couple golf shirts for Mike) at thrift stores. I have them all washed and folded and can't wait to make up beds with my new finds!
This spot on the Deschutes River is about 2 minutes from Lyndee's apartment and 5 from Dane's house.

Mystery Camera

Mike found a camera in the grass in the RV Park a couple days ago and today I took the memory card out and looked at the photos to see if I could figure out whose camera it is. Here are three of the photos. One, is obviously Mike! We figured out it is owned by one of the guys from last weekend's wedding party. Now we have to figure out how to contact him. He had some interesting photos! He had recently been to a bicycle rally of some sort out in the middle of nowwhere where people constucted very bizaare sculptures!

Oh My... My Life is GOOD !

Wow! What a busy weekend! We had a wedding party for three nights in our Inn, a lot bigger handful than we had thought they would be... the wedding was out in the wilderness, and the reception at our local community hall. We did a lot of picking up after them, but all in all it was a really good event and everyone was happy!

We also had our club championship golf tournament on Saturday and Sunday. I yi, yi, yi! It is such a love-hate thing for me!! I love the game but hate to "compete". Some people thrive on it, I am just a whimp if I think I "should" play well... Okay, so here is how the weekend went ~ Saturday, I struggled and finished 3 shots out of the lead, in 3rd place. Mike finished in 3rd also in the mens... Last night I had a realization that what I love about golf is making shots... figuring out the right club, etc, etc... so today that is how I played... one fun shot at a time. I did not compete... just enjoyed it! I shot 10 shots better than yesterday and won by two strokes! Mike tied for 2nd in the Men's division. It is really no big deal, but we get those free tickets to the Jeld-Wen Senior tournament again next year! .... and I must admit I have been smiling at my win- accomplishment all evening!
David Thunnell won the Men's Club Championship, I took his photo, and he took mine after they announced our names :)

TGIF

Stoppers are in and the water in them is gurgling and bubbling! No sound effects on blogs to share it. The plums' color seems to be changing, too. Looks like a science experiment, doesn't it?

Next Step for the Plum Crazy Couple

The guest bathroom tub has become home for our winemaking. It was quite messy transferring the plums from two containers to four. But having the shower head on a hose really helped. You can kind of smell a different aroma now when you come into the house, not bad, just different. The stoppers go in on Friday and then we just let it sit and do its natural thing for 4-6 weeks.
