Golf Class :)
Last Tuesday night I offered a free beginner golf class for ladies and was surprised when ten ladies showed up! Tonight I did it again and had fourteen ladies plus Harli, the four year old daughter of one of the ladies:) After teaching dance for so many years, I still have a heart for that age little girl!

The evening was lovely and the students grateful. We did a warm up stretch, went over the grip, stance, how to find the top of the golf swing and then hit balls on the driving range. Then we moved to the putting green and went over how to mark your ball on the green and that kind of stuff and then we walked/played the first hole using just our 7 irons in groups of five. My 30 mile drive home into a beautiful sunset had me smiling and thankful.

Busy Night in the RV Park
All seven spots were full last night along with two big rigs in overflow, hooked up to power in the pump house and the barn... and one tent camper. Four of the six Inn rooms were full as well! It is really exciting in the evening with all the hustle-bustle of people setting up camp. It's also real nice when they pull away happy the next morning :)Tuesday, July 22, 2008
An Evening on Phillips Resevoir

We didn't have any pre-reserved guests in the Inn last night so we loaded up the jet ski and drove a couple hours North and spent the evening in an awesome setting! There was not one other boat on the lake and it was mirror smooth. We found a little camp spot right on the water that was all our own and the dogs could be off-leash. Mike fished a little, we had a good dinner and a campfire. We awoke to rain so didn't get to play any this morning. We were home early and are both anxious to go again!

A Monday Morning Hello...with a Grateful Heart
This has been a wonderful summer at our Inn and RV Park. It's not just because business is good. I think it's more about my attitude of thankfulness. We are truly blessed to live this lifestyle with swimming holes, golf, green grass, appreciative guests and good health! I said to someone the other day that if God doesn't answer your prayers He changes your heart... I am no longer praying for the Inn to sell. I am simply enjoying what we have. Thankfulness IS the soil in which joy thrives!

Is Golf the Only Thing I Blog About?
Six gals from our John Day course ventured to Baker City for a two day tournament last weekend.
There were some really good golfers... a 3 handicap and a couple 8 handicaps... It was great competition, great weather, too. My partner was Julie Woodbury, on the far right in the photo. We took 1st place low net in the A flight and the other two in the photo, Mary Weaver and Melody Jackson took low net in the B flight. We played a best ball the first day and shot a 78 gross and played a Chapman format the 2nd day and shot a 74:) Next weekend is Mike's turn for a tournament. There is one here in John Day.
