Golf today and plans to get away..

This is hole #6, a par 3... I played nine holes this afternoon with the gentleman who is going to start working weekends in the pro shop for me, he just moved here from Eastern Colorado and is the new bank manager. His wife hasn't moved down yet, so weekends in the pro shop will be good for him and I can now proceed with returning to Oregon and my long lost hubby! I hope to be on the road by Thursday and home by Saturday, with a brief stop in Salt Lake City for a Lyndee hug. This 2nd photo is the long par 5 #9, and that's Ron getting ready to hit his 2nd shot.

"Great is Thy Faithfulness"

I love that old hymn. Today it was our closing song at church~I have been singing it all day... too bad I only know the chorus and not all the words. I drove to the Cochise Stronghold this afternoon, it was only in the upper 80's, so pleasant and rare free time to let Zander out to just breathe and appreciate the beauty here and count my blessings. One photo is looking up at the mountains, the other looking back over the valley.... :)

Priorities !

I took Zander out for a desert run before the sun came up this morning. It had rained a bit late last night and the air was cool and the sand damp and as you can see, a few clouds made for a nice sunrise. I hate leaving my beloved dog for these ten hour shifts I have been working and it has pushed me to get up earlier and earlier to make time for both him and my 'daily appointment with God' ~

Roosevelt Lake

I joined Deb and Mark and Jacy at Roosevelt Lake for a quick 24 hour camping and boating outing. The drive there and back was longer than I anticipated, but it is easily forgotten ~ besides all of them skiing and wake boarding, we rafted up with another boat and I floated on a raft and was SO relaxed! I am so anxious to have Mike here with me and to be able to do these things together. I miss him!

House Guest

This tarantula spider was right outside my front door this morning. I have been propping my screen door open and letting Zander out while I get ready to take him for his walk. Bad idea. When we got home from the walk, he was climbing on the front door.... Zander and I came in through the back:)

Boot Scoot Boogie

I had so much fun last night at a line dance class at the local VFW hall. It is taught by the husband of a gal I work with. I know it seems like a "has been" thing to do, but for single women especially, it is a way to get out, get moving, and to think a little bit too.
This plant has a story... it came from a cutting from sister Deb's house in Mesa, it was cut and rooted by my mom in Tucson and planted in my yard in Sunsites by my friend, Debbie.... to see it thriving and blooming makes me happy!

My Space

This is my sunroom, sister Deb gave me the green chairs and I bought some wooden flower boxes at a garage sale last weekend, they just happened to be the same color green and only $2.50 each. However the flowers (I doubt you can see them) were way too expensive ~ I stopped at one nursery and wasn't going to shop around in the 112' heat of Tucson the other day. I took this early this morning, you can see the sun is just lighting up the sky. This room has lots of potential and already is just a pleasant place to be, it is surrounded by little misters, that feel great.

Putts, Chips and Salsa ~ Happy Hour

I set up a 9 hole putting course on the practice green and a closest to the pin contest and tonight was the first weekly event. Participants put $1 in the pot for each try and the winner with lowest putts and KP won each pot. We had about a dozen people tonight and everyone liked it and I am expecting that it will get better each week. It is also the Mexican food buffet night so the chips and salsa fit right in. I put mexican blankets on the patio tables and benches and am hoping to work with the restaurant to do pitchers of margaritas and good priced mexican beer for next week. Ole' !

Lead the way....

I had to go to Tucson today ~ Cliff, a 95 year old neighbor-friend watched Zander for me. I have spent a couple hours now talking one on one with him and asking questions about his life. He is very interesting. When I picked up my dog, we talked about The Depression. He is writing his life's biography. He seemed to really look forward to, and enjoy, Zander's company, which was a great blessing for me (and I think for him). He has such a tender heart for animals :) My being alone here is stretching me in new directions and I am finding pleasure in relationships I probably would usually not pursue. I really feel this journey is God- led and even though I am lonely for Mike and unsure of where the road is leading, I am on the right road.

peace

Today ended up being a good day... got the golf tourney off, then church, then returned and did score cards and prizes. I had some encouraging, conversations, and the sunset and accompanying warm breeze helped my anxiety level immensely. I end this day realizing that God answered me today and granted me peace.

New day, new hope

The sun is rising on a beautiful new day. This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!
