The grass is always greener on the other side... Sunsites looked so good and my pro shop manager job so inviting when it was all new and an unknown excitement...and now that I am totally absorbed in it, I see it for what it is. It's no better than Dayville, just further south and hotter :) Yesterday was a real test of my people skills. A restaurant staff meeting ended with both the bar manager and restaurant manager walking out and quitting, leaving me to come back at closing to lock up and tossing and turning all night wondering if it is my job to make sure the restaurant would be staffed for Saturday night. We have no on site boss and I am too new to know anyone or feel comfortable making these big decisions. As the sun rose this morning I was exhausted and worried, even though I had been praying all night for guidance. Turns out the restaurant manager is giving her two week notice and not just walking.... and she found a new bar tender for tonight. I am in charge of a golf tournament tomorrow and have it under control... however, I have been told people are questioning my ability to run a tournament and many think the golf shop manager should be a man. Life is just a series of tests. These tests just keep me very grounded in my prayer life. Off to take Zander for a walk....

A Little Prayer to Share
"Lord cleanse my heart of all deceit,
And teach me to be true;
Help me to have integrity
In all I say and do."
It seems so silly how we try to deceive ourselves, we have to continually be honest with both ourselves and God... what little voice do you battle with? ... oh it's not gossip [when you know you better] ...oh I only drink a little wine [when you can't remember the last day you went without] ... He makes me act that way [it's someone else's fault you don't act loving]... I am convinced that not discussing these things with God and rationalizing them, is a path to sickness. We may have to do it day after day, after day, but we are incapable of repairing our own hearts and minds. And it's all connected... the shin bone's connected to the knee bone.... and on and on.... the heart is connected to the entire body, keep repairing it daily.

ly I though no way could I ever do that! Last Saturday I tee'd off at 6:45. Zander and I are faring okay by ourselves but we are a little lonely. After I walk him this evening I may go by myself to the club for shrimp dinner and live music.
