Christmas 1988

I wonder if I can get them to pose like this again this year? I am so anxious for us all to be together, even if it is just for a day or two.

They were reluctant and silly,

but here are my babies, 18 years later.

Let the Journey Begin!

One day you finally knew what you had to do, and began,

though the voices around you kept shouting their bad advice-

though the whole house began to tremble

and you felt the old tug at your ankles.

“Mend my life!” each voice cried.

But you didn’t stop. You knew what you had to do,

though the wind pried with its stiff fingers

at the very foundations, though their melancholy was terrible.

It was already late enough, and a wild night,

and the road full of fallen branches and stones.

But little by little, as you left their voices behind,

the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds,

and there was a new voice which you slowly

recognized as your own, that kept you company

as you strode deeper and deeper into the world,

determined to do the only thing you could do-

determined to save the only life that you could save.

Dayville Mourns, Heaven Rejoices

My friend, Tamie Jo Hettinga, died last night. She recently turned 49. She is in the black tank top, on the left in this photo. This was taken just a few months ago, in August, while golfing at the South Fork course. Her illness still remains a mystery. She will be missed!

The "Spirit of Christmas", I have to seek it! .

I decorated all 21 of my fence posts with blue spruce and red ribbon. I love using "stuff" I have on hand... I cut red plastic table cloth into strips for ribbon and trimmed branches from a tree in the yard for greenery, and used the twist ties from the Christmas lights to bind them together

Ho, ho, ho.

How do you spell J O Y?

J esus is talking, listen!

O bey His message
